CATCH MOWING OR MULCH MOWING?

Catch mowing and mulch mowing are two types of lawn mowing services that have different benefits and drawbacks.
Catch mowing involves collecting the grass clippings in a bag or bin and disposing of them in either your green waste bin or taking them with us if you don't have access to a green waste bin. Mulch mowing involves finely chopping the clippings and leaving them on the lawn, where they decompose and act as a natural fertilizer.

Catch mowing can give a cleaner and neater appearance to the lawn, as well as reduce the risk of thatch buildup and fungal diseases. However, catch mowing cost more as it requires more time, effort, and resources to collect and dispose of the clippings. Catch mowing also removes valuable nutrients and moisture from the soil, which can make the lawn less healthy and resilient.

Mulch mowing saves money and water; it also promotes moisture retention and returns beneficial nutrients to the soil. This significantly improves the lawn’s health and quality to a level you can be proud of. The only drawback to mulch mowing is the possibility of having clumps of clippings visible on the lawn: these clumps can make the lawn look uneven and messy. We always do our best to spread the clippings out evenly, but sometimes this is unavoidable, depending on the length of your lawn. In saying this, having your lawn mowed regularly - at least once every two or three weeks - can all but eliminate this problem. Which is why we recommend our regular, mulch mowing service for people who are trying to achieve a better, healthier looking lawn.
